There are some interesting facts about maple syrup

• The life span of maple tree is almost 30 years
• Once you start tapping the sap the diameter of the tree increases
• No permanent damage is caused to the tree as just 10% of the sap is collected every year.
• The maximum number of taps a tree can have is four
• Each tap gives at an average 10 gallons of sap per season that yields one quart of syrup.
